Jamaal ad-Deen Al-Farsi narrated the Quran to the people of Persia in an Arabic version about 680 years ago. He did not have any other manuscript or book. They were convinced that there couldn’t be two identical Qurans! The king in Damascus sent one of his servants named Khalid ibn Saeed to go with the delegation to Persia. It is said that Khalid ibn Saeed was a Coptic Christian. This is why he could read the transcript, because this language was derived from the Arabic alphabet. When Khalid ibn Saeed arrived in Persia, he took all his handwritten notes and started to write them down on paper. So “Kitaab Al-Uthmaan” came to be as a second copy of the transcript of Jamaal ad-Deen Al-Farsi.
